RE:Tme To Fish

Hey Down East, the cape can be a great place to fish in the spring time, usually starts around the last week in April, unless we have some nice weather early on. You will get quite a mixture of fish, small and large. Some places to go out of on your boat would be Cotuit or Pomponesset, South Cape beach, there is a ramp on your way to New Seabury, which is I believe Waquoit Bay, some parking and a nice ramp, but I would check it out 1st. Also Stage harbor ramp which gives you access to monomoy and Chatam. These are also great places to fish mid summer for some decent size blues and Bass. Barnstable Harbor is another great place, that has been really pretty decent all season from what I hear, but haven't really fished that area. Chatam is also a great place in the fall as the fish are migrating south. We catch alot of nice bass and blues here in the springtime.

Hope this helps!!!!

From now 'til the end of November should be good fishing on the Cape with Sept/Oct being prime. Great boat areas are all over from Billingsgate on the inside around the Race at P-town, along the beaches down to Chatham and Monomoy all the way to So. Cape, Falmouth and the Elizabeths. Tons of places to boat <img src="/Images/biggrin.gif"><!--e7-->....

Down east, If you have a boat and wire line then try scorton ledge off of Sandwich. You can launch at Sandwich Marina for 5 bucks. The fish were there today and so were about 50 boats weaving in and around each other. I got a 38" and 42" on the north edge where the water depth comes up to 20' deep. The fish were hungry. Alot of charter boats today. Good Luck, Slipknot
