My Dad
My Dad had colon cancer last Christmas he was operated on and pulled thru with no problems. thank god! well after recovery and he got back to work. I took him fishing for his Birthday to Plum Island in September when the stripers were blitzing the beach. I chased blitzes all day and he also did until he was just to tired so he sat by the truck and fished with sea worms.
I caught over 70 fish that day and my Dad caught 45 what a day, A day I will never forget

Thanks for the story and the fish pics. Sounds like a great day you had with your dad. My Dad just gives me a hard time on all the tackle/plugs I have, and the odd hours that I get up for fishing

Bob,
Those are great pictures - looks like a great time you guys shared. Catching that many fish must have been the icing on the cake.
I took my Dad out after he had his 2nd heart attack. My problem was that I took him out fly fishing. He didn't really take to it and my teaching ability was sub-par. It has been about 7 years since we did that, but I am hoping to take him surf fishing next season. We have talked about it and he seemed excited to do it again - as long as it was not fly fishing. He has even has picked up an older lami surf rod to use.
As I get older and have a kid of my own I have begun to appreciate my Dad more and more and look forward to sharing these type of things with him.
