Large Item shipping advice?
I have found someone to buy my cooler/rod rack, but they live in Long island. What company would be the cheapiest and easiest place to ship this item through? Ive never mailed anything this large before.
Thanks

DHL maybe. They're cheap but often slow. I think you can order a pick up from their website.
Depending just how big and heavy it is, UPS and/or FedEx could be expensive. If it's under their length, width, height, and weight dimensions UPS will be reasonably priced.

Thanks Pete. Its the SLP rod/cooler rack that i have in the classifieds here. Its about 46" X 26" X 22" and around 40-50lbs. Fedex and ups estimated it at $80-120.

Luckily that thing is fairly durable, but pack it well anyways.
We thought we finally found an affordable way to ship 9ft and longer surf rods but we've had several, uh, causulties while using DHL...
UPS and FedEx are as you found, always $80 and up.

Check with the LI ferry service they may have a freight service, drop it off in New London and they can pick it up at Orient Point
