John can we say stuff like

John can we say stuff like don't go to Atlantic boats in wareham.
I spent 29,000 on a boat there and they will not stand behind it.
They put a counter rotating motor on the boat with out telling me.By the way a counter rotating motor is to be used when running twin motors only never as a single.

I can't get to the Islands & back on 70 gal of fuel thats only 35 miles round trip.

Or would that be to much to say.

if you take this post out i will understand.
I just don't want anybody to go thru what I'm going thru.

I'll add my voice to that concert, I'd not recommend them and I think Slipknot has been screwed by them, as has another friend of mine. Two service trips and many $$$$ later they never fixed my cold weather shifting problem. Plus the last time I came out with a broken trailer light and a broken trailer jack.

The problem isn't isolated to Atlantic either, because I wouldn't recommend the Suzuki dealer (Landfall then bought by Hewett Cove in Hingham Mass) I went to after Atlantic couldn't and wouldn't fix my shifting problems. You couldn't give me another Suzuki and not because it's a bad outboard, in fact the guy that's taking mine tomorrow got a steal at $2,200. The problem is that when you have a shift problem, go to 2 dealers, 4 separate service trips and still have the problem, only to get a final diagnosis for an additional $660 repair....well let's just say I have no confidence in the Suzuki service. Then the guy who bought it talked to two other service guys that had some experience on Suzukis and they told him cold weather shifting is a problem on Suzukis because of the way the design relies on gravity and the cold weather affects the gear oil and prevents shifting. So he may have gotten himself one hell of a deal, but I didn't care I don't plan on buying another one.

One would think that 2 Suzuki dealers would be aware of that, but that assumes they are competant. Oops got ranting there, but bad boat dealers are like bad auto dealers, there is one in every town. I'm looking forward to getting into the Honda and the plus is, the guy also is a Lund dealer and the Minn Kota service center.

As long as it's the truth, and yes, several people here have been pretty unhappy with them. And it's cost them too. Schoolie Monster specifically went to RI to but his Logic/Triumph instead of Atlantic based on wht you guys have said in the past....

Mike, I am truely sorry to hear off your situation with your 1 year new boat. That hull should easily get way better gas mileage than that. The guy has no morals in my opinion. I have steered more than just Schoolie monster away from there, and I will continue to reccomend to people to stay away from them. I won't ever buy as much as a quart of oil from Atlantic Boats as long as John Cornish owns the place, which may not be for long if he keeps going with the bad rep he's developing.

It's a very sore subject to me and cost me 4 grand.

Mike, if you have trouble with him do not give up , pursue it till you have to take him to court.

I'd love to see him lose his shirt in court someday, the boaters at the dock all complain about him as well, they get charged for stuff at inflated prices and charged extra for stuff that wasn't fixed right in the first place and damaged by the mechanics.
I can't understand how he gets away with some of the stuff.

sorry , I'm rambling too.

My dad bought his Suzuki there and I did warn him. He can be a little blunt like me and when they didn't do what they promised, he mentioned about the complaints on the net and around the docks. The owner/manager? had smoke coming out of his ears!

I had stopped at Atlantic last Aug. with my wife to look at what he had for a 18-19 center console but after waiting for about 20 min. for anyone to help us he comes over and starts to swear like a trooper about how bad a day he has had. Now my wife is looking at me like lets go but I still wanted a price on a rig he had in the yard. He shot me off a price of 24500.00 with out trailer. And then said he was closing up for the night. The next day my wife bought me the Seaswirl at Don's marine in Tiv. R.I. They had answers for all our questions and said they would stay open late if she wanted to come back late in the afternoon to look at the boat with me after work!!!! I went back the next day for a run out in the bay with him in the boat and we bought it that day! So I would like to thank Atlantic for their service as we may have gotten stuck with a boat from there if it had been good service!

Ps so far the service at Don's has been more than I could ask for and having been in the sales buisness all my life I know how hard it is to please everyone but I think Don's goes the extra mile to make things go smoothly for all.

I was very happy dealing wit the guys over at Don's marine - I didn't buy anything but they were honest & professional. I wound up talking to the owner too - nice guy...

I was in Atlantic and felt hurried as I wasn't important enough, as well as "check over your way some more"... Oh well....

Last year a friend of mine went down to Atlantic to buy a 16ft Lund.
I guess one person sells marine supplies and someone else sells boats, we asked for the price of a 16ft boat to the only person in the building and were told "someone else sells the boats".
I would of expected "can I get your name and # I'll have someone call you", not there.
My buddy bought a 16ft boat from the lund dealer in Dedham.

They say with good service a buyer will tell up to 4 other people, with bad service the news is passed on to 10 or more, that seems to be the case here too.

Jeez, Mike, I'm sorry to hear about the BS. Sounds like they not only fail to stand by their products and work, but they also screw up alot.

I guess I'm doubly glad that Slip and Got Stripers steered me away from that place. Sounds like nothing has changed.

GS, that Honda dealer is Tropicland or Tropical Land, right? Bill and Julie recommended me to them when I bought my tracker, although they didn't work on Mercs and I never went there. I think I'll give them a try now that I have the Honda.

Tropicland has an excellant mechanic (Brian) and my family has used him for many years. He fixed my Force 9.9 after I pleaded with him. I can't tell you what he said about it when I brought it in but he worked on it and fixed it.
