Question Star Nickelite Rod?

Anyone have any experience with the Star Nickelite Series Spinning rods?

From what I can tell these rods come with quality Fuji components. I'm looking specifically at the N612S66 6'6 rated from 3/8 to 1 1/4. Hoping to use this rod for small rubber, bucktails and probably some mini mambos and jumpin minnows etc. Basically for when the bass first show up.

I was also considering a Loomis Greenwater rod but the Star rods at $120 are far more less expensive.

Thanks in advance any help.

I have a All Star - Stellar Lite CG90IS 10-25 LBS 1-4 oz , 9' . I do like the rod - However the ruber cap on the but of the rod came off , then the plug in the but sec. fell out , and now the cork tape started to unwind . Again I like the rod but sometimes you get what you pay for .

just my 2cents

It's definately true that in most cases you get what you pay for. These rods as far as I kow have nothing to do with All Star and by the looks of them(on line photos) have great components and are well made. On a side note I have an All Star production rod that needs a new handle wrap and real seat too so I feel your pain.

In the past Star Rods have been a great product. Its my understanding that most of the product line went overseas with a new owner. One shop I know is not pushing the product anymore.
The Stellar Lite has been a great rod for me, the Nickelite looked like a better rod, lighter, stiffer, more responsive. More expensive.

I have a Star Nickelite 9' conv w/6500 throws 1-4 (IMO 11/2 to 2 is best) That rod is the balds. M&D's has one left. Imo its one of the best production rods out there.

I have a Star Stellar Lite 7 1/2 foot schoolie surf rod I got at the Rissa show a few years back. Stellar lite is the surf series. I think it is a very good rod for the price. But not cheap- around $110 so gets close to a Lami. highly recommend it for the first bass. Again its a Star rod not All Star. Different companies.
