Cod fish!!
Went out for cod Wed. with some customers on a charter out of Gloucester. Six of us in the party plus the Capt. over 1200# of cod and 200# pollock. We got to the fish grounds at 9:00 and limited out by 12:00. The largest fish was 39# average was 20# all on jigs. The best bait (lure) was fresh water rubber worms

And look at that, one of those large cod is enjoying a bottled beverage.

Chris the worms were Culprits salted fresh water bass worms they caught all the 30# plus fish. The 39# was on a double he took the worm and a 15+# took the jig. We got other fish in the 30,s and all of them came on the small worm also. Had a double with a 32# and a 20# the 32 took the worm and the 20 the jig. Now there will be a big run on Culprit worms at all the local bait shops . BJS the only charter we could find that was still going out was KAYMAN out of Gloucester we have been out with him once a week for the past 5 weeks and everyday has been about the same but the first time the fish were small. Capt. Twombly is a great guy and knows his stuff. Joe we had eight 50+ bags of fillets that would go for about $3200 at the market. Uncle Matt if you look close there are two fish holding our lunch time beverages cold for us Sam Light and fish slim go GREAT together. just so you know only two beer each and a glass of wine for the ride back into port.

Striper1 we were 25 to 30 miles out 250 feet of water makes for a lot of cranking to get the fish in the boat and yes it is work but at the time you don't think of it. Now today the day after boy do you know how hard it was the arms are barking for sure. But if I had the time I would be out there agian right now

Congrats

I'm packing for Ossipee right now.
No cod,I don't eat freshwater fish and 15 inches of ice.
VERY tempted to bail and call Walsh's.
And it's a good hurt. You don't feel it until after.
Enjoyed over the first of many fish dinners.
With fries.
And a frosty cold Sammy or two or three.
