Excellent Show
Had a great day today at the show. I think we bought a years supply of everything! Extra good deals everywhere. Got to see Tony Stetzko's talk. Very good talk. Good Q and A too. Got to see a boat load of striped-bass people. Met a lot of new people too.
Seeing Cinto and Stezko' s fish in the same place got you thinking about what if ...someday....

brought the family.. wife and one daughter got a little yancy after about an hour or so and ended up buying some stuff in some of the other shops in the area. Now myself and my other daughter had a real good time.. bill and jules show was pretty interesting and even kept my daughter interested and infected her a little more with the fishing bug . there are quite a few great deals along with all kinds of information. it was good to see the crew that was there.

John,
Good to see you at the show. Bottle washer?? Do you home brew? I hate washing bottles. I plan to get a keg system in the next month then I won't have to wash bottles again.

The show was as good as you all said it was! The eel show was just what I was looking for very informative. Now who knows where I can pick up a eel pot? Looks like catching my own is the way to go would like to get one with in the next few weeks. Was nice seeing lots of striped-bass freinds there and to meet Nor-Easter brought back lots of Cuttyhunk memories of my uncle Joe who was a charter guide out of the island back in the 50s and 60s. Think it is time to start setting up the Cuttyhunk derby and the rules. I have the list that had signed on and will post it to see who still wants to go and can still go? If you have not been to the show yet get out of the house today and go you will not be disapointed

Chris,that is great
I didn't find a C-lite either maybe we can get J Powers to set us up with some.
Mike T has those glasses for even less than that I think.
I had a blast seeing and meeting many fellow fishermen and women and good to see you too John.
Thanks again Saltheart, Danny's eyes lit up when I showed him his new rod Please remind me what it is rated for?
And what model Loomis was that jigging stick? Thanks
now I have 2 Saltheart custom sticks
canalratt1, I am all set up for the year with those bullets
Krispy, thank you very much also
I didn't get a chance to chat with Fisherwoman but I did get to talk with Bill.
Won't be long till we get out fishing again

Mike has them glasses for like 12.95 and I forgot to pick up a couple pair when I was there yesterday ! Great deal for glass lens sunglasses . I need them for river watching ( amber/tan ) with the cool tourtise shell frames .
Man I got to get that snap fixed . You know the one that holds my head on my shoulders ! Where is that one brain cell when you need it !

Finally ! Something everybody agrees on - the show was terrific. Great to see all the old faces and meet some new ones. I couldn't stay long and it killed me to have to leave early. That Beakaway booth could've put a serious dent in the wallet. The Hab's plugs are too damn nice to fish with - they belong in a museum.
I'll see you guys soon - you know where.

The story about your daughter gave me a big smile Chris. It is a pretty rod do to the opal effect of that holographic thread. The funny thing is , she could fish eels and land Moby #^^^^& with it too!.
So I'm all warm am fuzzy about Chris's daughter and then Slip says his son loves his too!! Very gratifying! Glad to see those rods going to kids. All I can say is ...I wish I had a rod like that when I was a kid!
Slip , the Loomis you won in the tourney is a 1087. Its rated 2-5. It will really zing 4 OZ like you need. I would fish it with a BG7000CL filled with 50 LB Spectron. The light rod is perfect at 1 OZ. I would rate it 1/2 to 2. Its built to use a very small reel.
Thanks everyone for the compliments on Smokey's rod. It is beautiful but I hope everyone also noticed what a lethal weapon it is too. It was an All Star 1265/2. Can you say eeeeel !

Saltheart I'd tell you my son, or daughter loves it also, but I don't have any yet. So I guess I will have to keep it for my self , I love it though I think it was the best deal of the day. Krispy's plugs were another great deal, it was nice meeting you. Bill and Juls show was very informative, and they are down to earth. It was nice to talk to you. If I get evrythinig in order on my little tub I will give you guys a holler. I thought Tony's show was informative, those beaches in the picture had me drooling. He was very down to earth as well, I got to talk with him for a couple of minutes be fore I left.

Last night I felt like crap, a long day and a cold wiped me out last night and today I was in a fog. Still it was nice to meet a bunch of the new striped-bass gang and some of the old farts. John and I had diner last night after the show and then I died a horrible death on the family room couch. I'm sure it wasn't a pretty site, but luckily there was no film at 11 .
It was good to see Clamdigger out and about today, although he was probably in violation of his doctors orders. Enjoyed talking to Habs and Tatoo, meeting Krispy and some of the other active and lurking striper nuts here, along with some of the other guys behind the booths. It was quite a learning experience for a first time rubba guy. I had nothing but possitive feedback from both seasoned and newbies, so I have to say it was a success for me. Very satisfying when your competitors buy and then ask for a brown paper bag to package the baits in.
Based on some feedback and contacts I made I've got to get busy restocking and I've already sent out 3 key emails to set those wheels in motion.

Thank you to all I met up with yesterday. Learned a lot. Bought a lot too. JR sent me in the right direction for a new Okuma TDS 60 ten bearing reel! Bartered at least five times with Krispy! Loaded for bear and ready for the fish to come back.
Count me in for Cuttyhunk GB.

Glad you all had fun at the show - me, I was wiped but I had a ball... Just glad the show's over 'cause the next thing to do is Fishing!
Also glad to see that everyone of our group that had a booth did pretty good too!
So who bought what? Although I wanted to get just a few things, the onlything I wound up getting was an T.S. "Eet my Eel" bumper sticker.... I also wanted to see his seminar but maybe next year .
I did get to see FW & BC's show for 5 minutes because somebody asked me to figure out why the projector didn't work
... Again - thanks for everyone that swung by & said hello. Thanks to Krispy & GS for the goodies ...
Bloo - sorry you couldn't make it t the show but unfortunately, stuff happens but just think, you'll have an extra get out of jail free card to use up soon...

Just wanted to say it was super meeting everyone from S-B at the show. I had a great time. I wish I could have stayed longer , but had to leave pretty early. The show really got my juices going for the upcoming season. This will be my fourth season fishing the salt, and I think I finally have a decent handle on things. I guess we'll see....
Just a little while longer now....

The show was great, I ended up buying a couple new handmade plugs that's i'm sure i'll manage to loose soon fishing the rivers and coasts on the North Shore. By the way John the Striped-Bass.com booth looked great as well, I was going to stop by and say Hi but you seemed pretty busy talking to a crowd that formed around the laptop.

Great Show!!
I left with 4 14oz cod jigs for less than $22!! It was good to meet you this weekend John, Thanks again for keeping this site up and running. I have no memory for names, who was in the booth with you when I stopped by (3:30 sunday). It's good to put a name with the face, I just can't remember names.
