Wow! What a shame.....he was a great ballplayer. Alot of fun to watch and he played to win! First his career cut short and now his life......count your blessings friends. RIP Kirby.

I will always remember that World Series against Atlanta as one of the best I ever saw......that great catch Puckett made crashing into the glass wall in center to catch that ball saving the game only to be won by a Puckett homer later on........and the game seven win when Jack Morris pitched the entire 10 inning game???? One of the best pitching performances I ever saw in a World Series game.

I just saw on the news that Kirby, at age 45, is the second youngest player in the hall of fame to pass away. Right behind Lou Gehrig, who was 37.
Sad news though. I'll remember his great smile, his can do attitude and his great ability. Remember when he was rumored to be coming here to Beantown?
