The Saltwater Edge is moving!
Come visit us at our new location at 1077 Aquidneck Avenue (Rt. 138A) in Middletown, RI ! The new shop will be almost twice as big and be much more accessible then our current downtown location. For customers on the North end of the Island and SE New England we池e now on the way to the water whether you fish Newport or South County. From the West we are just over 2 miles from the bridge. From any direction you can now avoid the Newport traffic.
With more room we値l be able to improve the selection in all the things we currently do; surfcasting, saltwater fly, and light tackle as well as a big increase in our selection of boat gear for both inshore and offshore. Behind the scenes we値l have room for back stock and for the first time a dedicated shipping/receiving area for web and mail orders, something we致e really needed for quite a while. We are also going to have an extensive library of striper books on hand, many of which are extremely rare or old, as well as a couch to sit down and enjoy them on.
All phone numbers will remain the same as will all @saltwateredge.com email addresses.
The last day we値l be open at the current location will be the 13th of January and we池e aiming to have the new store functional and open (although definitely not finished) by January 20th. We値l have a grand re-opening on May 20th and we値l also be raffling off a free Van Staal reel on that day. Stop by the new store to sign up!

From the West:

If you have any questions or concerns just let us know. The website will stay up although during the week of the move web and mail orders may take a few extra days to get out the door. Thanks for your patience and we hope to see you soon.

In todays day and age when the small local tackle guy is going out of business, it's great to see one growing. Best of luck, Pete.

That is great, much easier to get in and out of, plus more space. The place is already a surfcasters paradise..Now you just need to be a certified weigh station

Up front it would be tough but you should be able to park out back; tractor trailers go back there occasionally so a boat should easily go through...

We'll have to hire Hooter s girls to prance around out front.Sure will miss the scenery of downtown Newport in the summer time. Also, unless there is a liquid refreshment stand walking distance we'll need a bigger fridge.

There's a full size fridge in the back, not just a mini fridge. I think we can even fit a keg in it. AND there's a liquid refreshment stand nearby. Plus we're a lot closer to Flo's now. So there's nothing to worry about there. Anthony's Seafood is walking distance too.
As for the scenery, that's pretty much irreplacable. That's going to be the biggest change. Maybe we'll just have to raid the clubs more often after fishing at night, I don't know. Women love me in tight hyperstrech neoprene. And you know I love walking around Thames Street in my wetsuit.
Work hard, fish hard, and play hard. That won't be changing...
