Nauset or The Race??
If you could only get one sticker which would it be??
I am thinking of getting one to off set some of the gas in the boat, and go surf some this year.
Thanks all!

I get the Race sticker there is a lot more drivable beach and Nauset is walkable like you said, well to a point. I have been using the boat alot less the last couple of years.

Tough Call, but.....
Honest answer, maybe more of an opinion.
mj, you are:
Gonna go through the better part of 200 bucks either way.
Gonna hafta run gas and wear and tear in the buggy, more dough.
Factor how the surf fishing has been the last 3-5 years.
Factor bird closures, seals, mung, etc.
Factor that you have had better luck in the boat
Factor that ya got a pissah boat, and ya catch fish when ya go out in it.....
uh, I'm think dump the dough in the boat gas tank.
I've had both the last coupla years.... for me, well, I get the bonus, (cause I'm a resident) of the Nauset Inlet side, and I live in town, (less gas back and forth) I guess I'd go with that, but, you do get more variables, (Truro, Hatches, the Race, etc.) with the seashore, pass, but you burn more gas getting back and forth...
Seashore is 30 bucks less...
If you are just looking to fish, there are so many good places to just walk on, get the night parking permit from the seashore.. heck, some of the best places, are walk on... ooops... ssshhhh....

Thanks all!!
I have been thinking, and the Race is nice, but you are right, its 1 hour drive for me each way, Then the gas to run it. I might as well gas up the boat and do a inshore trip.
Nauset, I have heard that there are fish but the Seals have been reeking havoc !!
Thought about Sandy Neck ?? Its not that far from home. But I hate fishing the bay!
Been talking to a few others and they say the same, walk on or go to a few other places, There a ton's of fish all over just have to learn were they are!!
So I am thinking that this year I will test some spots and decide weather or not a sticker is worth it to me or not??
I also have to try some new spots closer to shore with the boat, Bass are not the problem, I can go out of Chatam and catch 500 fish a day!! Lots of small, unless I want to go a bit further for the big ones?
But I like Vinyard sound, there is every fish you could want there, and it is possible to Bass in the AM, switch to Fluke, Scup, Black Sea Bass, Blue Fish, Tog, ect ect...
I am so confused???
Thanks all!! Joe

I remeber seeing that at the Race a few years ago!! I was there taking the wife and some out of town friends for a beach ride, when I came apon it. Didn't even have a rod!! I was ready to die I was so mad!
Now there is one in there all the time, not the best, but will do in a pinch!

joe, did you buy that rod holder setup? or did you fabricate it? i need something like that for my truck. i was thinking of mounting rod holders on the roof, but that seems like more of a pain trying to get up and down off there.
thanks.
btw, ive had nauset the past few years. i want to get the seashore for this year, but ill probably get nauset as well.

Like Karl said walk ons are cheaper and give you some exercise.
Until beach fishing improves down Cape I`ll stick to a few trips here and there but focus elsewhere for the immediate future.

There is nothing to it!!
Just get a 2X10, Cut as long as needed to get across the bed of your truck. Sits between the slots in the bedliner. If fullsize truck you may have to screw a piece of 1/2 on the edges, as the bedliners are ture 2" wide and a 2x10 is only 1 1/2.
Go to Kmart, Walmart, Boaters world, ect ect.. and buy 5 or six of the plastic 30* rod holders for a boat $5+ each.
Now heres the tricky part, You have to drill with a 2" hole saw, on a 30* angle.
After that you just insert the plastic rod holders and you good to go!!
Can remove or install in 5 seconds after that!
