Home cures / Salty lines

Anyone have any good old home cures for getting Dried salt off their coated fly lines,,,,,, that works?
Tried the old standard of soap and water before. But found that after a few uses it took the shine off the line. Think it just doesn't disolve the salt, and when wiping it off, the salt acts as an abrasive, and in effect sands the surface finish (slippery shine) right off the line.
Seems many "dressings" do the same.
Looking for suggestions.
Thanks

Plain water will dissolve salt. Just strip it off into a bucket of warm water. A little vinegar helps too by lowering the ph (opposite of what normal soap does) and helps dissolve calcium deposits.

Hmmm, I'll trie the soap and water (w/ vinegar),, again.
Perhaps I didn't soak it long enough to disolve the salt?

No soap. Vinegar neutralizes base soap.
