I don't think that they are made anymore but if I rember correctly I think I saw some at Bucko's last time I was there, about a year ago. You might want to try giving them a call.

Was talking to a friend last night and asked him if he had any of these...He said, Yeah, I have two original (re:early 60's) brand new baittails in the original package. They even have a price tag from Hermans (LI sporting goods store)....19 cents!

I picked up the book bait tail fishing this past winter and found it excellent reading. I become emersed in this little book. He had a lot of help writing it from some real pros (Woolner was the main editor among others). But the lure I remember using a long time ago and have not seen it in many years.
I plan on chasing down a couple leads and perhaps making a lil' sluggo like verson.

Go to eBay and do a advanced search... it will come up all categories....input ....eels fishing... some old Alou`s the other day...different sizes...not sure if one was a bait tail ...cruised on by.

Thier is a coupla different company's make something similar to the alou bait tail.Bingle is one I think.My friend collects stuff like that.He has all kinds of Alou eel imitations some cool stuff.Where did u get Al Reinfelders book that has been one I been tryin to find.
