I knew it. I saw Terry Nugent's reports on the other sites and knew those fish would come in. I had business obligations in Western Mass

Yea, Anyone Have any info on what's going on down there? My brother went down there one day last week and could not get all the way to the Gut.

He posts them on SOL and reel-time.
clambelly, the fish must have gone down by the time they reached where I was parked at the west end this AM. I saw a handful of breaks, and nothing even keeper sized where I was. I threw right on one fish (amazing the guy fishing next to me who wondered aloud how I could cast so accurately) and the fish never even made a pass at my plug
It was a twinkie fest on jigs and Sluggos. I had one small fish on a 9" Storm before first light, and he did me the favor of throwing the hooks before I had to climb down and get him. I also took a short break while some lightning passed close by.

mike, i don't know if the fish i was on came by you until later. we were hooking up consistently from 545 til 8. pretty much cookie cutter fish, from right around legal size, up to 36". the bite shut right off around 8 and we fished on twinkies for another 2 hours.
the wind is scheduled to blow tomorrow, so i might be on the rocks rather then in the boat.
