striper cup, how big will the team's fish be ??

I'm just curious, how big should a fish be before we keep it to enter in the striper cup?

I signed up at the msba show when I joined msba, so I'm signed up on their team but I don't know how many guys from MSBA signed up, or what they will be able to put up for numbers ? I was guessing that each team would be able to fill their slots with 30lb fish, and I know I'm not really going to win the individual competition, so I wasn't planning on weighing anything unless I thought it was 30lbs+.

Also I don't fish with a scale, so I was guestimating 44" to be a 30 lb fish, does that sound about right?

MSBA voted as a club not to weigh in anything under 30 pounds for conservation reasons. Club figures anything under 30 will not be a factor so why waste the fish if not necessary.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Thanks Larry. I had not read anything about it on the msba site and I haven't made it to a meeting in a while.

Good question - I was thinking about this and I think the minimum weight we should enter as a team would be 30 pounds as well. As they are only taking the top 10 fish from each club this would be a fair starting number and individually, you get a chance for a pin if you want that.

I'm putting together a S-B Page thingy for this tournament so we'll see how it goes...

Thanks!

That is exactly what the club decided, and it is certainly for a good reason...

Used hard and put away dirty....

44 inches is a good mark for a 30 pound fish.

Absolutely - go to the sticky thread at the top of this board - it gives the link to OTW registration and where to send an email for me to get you on the list...

(get your brother too, when his luck changes, he's likely to get a Sixty and I want him on S-B )
Thanks!

John
