Congrats to your friend on the 40. The fishing was solid all weekend 'til the wind made for some problems on the Cape. Plenty of keepers landed but nothing to write home about.

i fished yesterday by the Powder Point bridge in duxbury to catch a few short fish. windy as heck. im going to be heading up to Plum soon and tell you what the big sandbar in the river looks like. it seems to change every year. last year the only good parts of the river were open for maybe about a 30 mins on the low tide and the tide moves in fast. o well ill check it out. im not much of a plum island beach front person, but that will change due to my father buying an SUV.

river mouth

i fish the river mouth, and only the river mouth. on the out going i like to wade out onto the bar and cast heavy buck tails or clams. at the turn of the tide, early on the incoming i like to get off the bar and walk towards the jetty casting a mombo minnow. i reel it in so it doesnt even leave the surface and just sort of makes its own little wake

plum Island

what when where time for the plum!!

Ilove the biggest wroms i can find carolina riged over the bar w/ an evening droping tide.

close second is drifting fresh clams in almost the same way.

I have used live herring and macs there but haven't done as well
I caught lots of fish but not as big.

anyone else?????

Egg sinker

Hey IRL so you use an egg sinker, the ones with the hole in the middle, stick the line through and put on a swivel and then a hook? if so, i do the same exact thing. i even have my favorite plum hook. the gamagatsu #4 or 5. they are the perfect size for clams. hey do you ever fish that bowl that occurs inside the bar? eels work in side that too. no weight . theres some bigger fish that stay in the bowl. whats your fav. lure there, mines the mambo minnow.

hmmmmm?

its pretty hard to just say to the left or to the right. so ill try and put it this way. you park in the lot and walk out to the beach. you then put your self in line with the transmitting tower you see behind you. you walk out onto the bar and face the salsbury side of the river. turn to the right about 150 degrees and there along the beach that leads up to the jetty is the "bowl" its hard to give directions in words.
