TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA 256 PM EDT TUE JUL 11 2006
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR... EASTERN ESSEX COUNTY IN EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF GLOUCESTER

* UNTIL 330 PM EDT

* AT 253 PM EDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A FUNNEL CLOUD NEAR TOPSFIELD...OR ABOUT 7 MILES NORTHWEST OF BEVERLY...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

* THE TORNADO WILL BE NEAR... IPSWICH BY 305 PM EDT ESSEX BY 310 PM EDT 7 MILES NORTHWEST OF GLOUCESTER BY 320 PM EDT 6 MILES NORTHWEST OF ROCKPORT BY 325 PM EDT

IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER IN A NEARBY REINFORCED BUILDING. AS A LAST RESORT...SEEK SHELTER IN A CULVERT...DITCH OR LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES... EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER. IF NO SHELTER IS AVAILABLE...LIE FLAT IN THE NEAREST DITCH OR OTHER LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.

did you see the yacht club in marblehead... disaster area.
they clocked 94 mph winds. wonder if anyone got caught out in that.

was down in on the Danvers/Middleton line on Tuesday and you could see the funnel cloud starting to form. eerie. Started with a few wisps of dark clouds stretching down out of the clouds until they all connected. Wish I had a camera.
