getting the stink out
Im sitting at my desk right now and all I can smell is the 4 hours of herring chunking i did last night. (fruitless btw)
i've used lemon, automotive orange, soap soap and more soap but i can not seem to quell it. Seeing i work in IT and have to visit peoples cubes all day long, this can make for a very unpleasant experience for the one i'm visiting 
What do you use to get rid of the herring cologne smell?  |

i have been using a green tea scented foaming soap, after a couple of washes im stink free.....at least to myself  |

Not surgical gloves. I hate finding those dame things all over the rocks. Using actual Lemons have worked for me in the past.

Who cares, half the week I come in here smelling like my waders, boo ya!...most people have learned to ask if I fished that morning before coming in to close  |

I can relate MH- it is often my car keys that hold on to the fragrancy. My small office is herringful quite a bit. Some suggestions:
1.- Toothpaste! The minty flavorings are a good mask for herring. Rub it on generously and do not rinse it off. You will have the freshest smelling handshake in the office.
2.Lime Juice- Always keep a bottle in the home and office fridge. Just pour it on and lather up.
3.Lemon wedges- Caution- severe cases of BASS THUMB can cause extreme pain with this method- Save the lemon garnish the next time you go for seafood. I have several behind the seat of my truck that get multiple uses.
4. Baby wipes or a bottle of hand sanitizer. Generally the sooner you clean your hands the better chance of eliminating that foul smell.

Yes the wonder bar works.......Thats what I use when I remember. I do use regular disinfecting wipes on the steering wheel in the truck though.

I know of someone that makes fishing scents that are based on fish oils and extracts. This stuff makes smelly jelly seem like a condiment for a nice sandwich - it is strong. Anyway he makes a cleaner that he sells for the people silly enough to buy it, but he always recommends using tide. I guess it breaks the oils down that leave the smell. It might take several applications. Worth a try if you haven't already.

The purel type waterless cleaner does a good job getting rid of fish smell. I found out by accident when my gf pulled some from her purse to clean her hands after handling a fish - it worked great.
I keep some in the truck for after fishing cleanup.

Toothpaste and mouthwash works the best. Me and a friend went on a fishing trip and had some girls comming over later that night. We stunk like herring so we tried everything. Toothpaste and mouthwash did the trick!
Anyone got any good shore spots I can reach from the North End of Boston???!? I moved here pretty recently and dont know any productive spots.
