Just a thought after reading the OTW thread regarding Com. vs Rec in the tournament.

I've been to the Woods Hole aquarium, the absolute very best in my opinion because I get to see fish that are native to our waters. So I know that striped bass can be kept alive, and bluefish and all of them. Couldn't someone catch a bass, and just keep it alive, feeding it, then just enter it into a tournament/derby?

I remember having a smallmouth that I caught and brought it home in a bucket and fed the thing bugs, flies, moths, worms, and it would grow, shoot I was just a kid, and after it grew too big for the tank I let it go. Who is to say that doesn't happen, after all, when there is money on the line, wouldn't the cost of keeping a striped bass alive and fed be worth it for either cash or a 17 foot whaler or 4x4 pickup truck?

Now I don't do this. I've never been in a tourney/derby and don't ever plan to, but it is possible, isn't it?
