Another Paypal related scam

So anywho....

Be Careful:

Got a official looking email with my real name on it from service@paypal.com
(not an address you can reply to) saying I had purchased a gas airplane engine fron someone in Cali for $339.00 charged to my credit card.

WTF????? at the very bottom is a Dispute Transaction button..... Hotmail has a warning but I wanted to see.... brings up a very official looking Paypal page where you have to fully sign in.... I look up in the address bar and its something weird...... Rose something and more.

Check out and go to real Paypal site... no purchase registered here...forwarded email to Paypal Security.

Have seen lots before but this was the best (worst).

Deleted all the crap after .com in the address and its someone in Japan.

RIPOFF

Good health and family

My wife got it. Hers was 4 tires from a garage in Alabama, with the name of a purchaser. We found out later that if you enetered your Paypal password and tried to log in, you'd get the dreaded "404" Windows error page instead of an "invalid user name/password" message. It was a dead link--all they wanted was your PP password.

She called PP to report it---they suggested that she change her password anyway, even tho she never clicked on the link. Then we flooded the scammers' server with made up user names and dummy passwords.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

as a rule of thumb...when ever i get emails from any site like paypal, ebay..ect...if you are interested or question the purchase/sale/gimmick or whatever in the email..Instead of clicking those email links..do this...
Just open a new window and type the URL to their website. I never click their email links..no matter how real it looks! If the email is legit.. the same info will be in your account on their website after you log in.
