Wind from the east
Wind from the east, fishing the least. Why is that?

Here is some "canal wisdom" that I've heard from various fishermen over the years
the East tide at the West end and the West tide at the East end
Fishing the East end "West is best, East is least"
Fishing the West end "bottom of the West, start of the East"
Go at slack and you'll get your rig back.
When the tide is runnin' the fish are commin'
Fish on the flood, get stuck in the mud

Blowing a gale tonight out of the East. RIRockhound and I found a dozen fish with Stripes. Bite died about 3 ours after the bottom. We were, however, way inside. The front was/is unfishable.

Wind from the east, fish like to feast. 8 fish last night for me, 3 medium 15-18# fish in the canal. The rest were dinks. Why am I reporting this insignificant catch? I have no idea. Sleep deprivation probably. The way I see it is regardless of the weather, you can always get them somewhere, just find a sheltered area when its real bad on the open areas.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Couldn't agree more, easily the best time I think. I'll usually stay one hour after the complete turn, but turn up two hours before.
