depends if the fish are biting

look on the bottom of the page for the wave bouys. it says... swell, steep, very steep, average, n/a,,, etc....also the little bar graph to the left of whear it says wave hight..wave period,, etc.. you can get a good idea from those graphs..
3 foot every 3 seconds is bumpy... 3 foot every 8 seconds is swell..
this morning off cape ann, it was 2.3 foot every 10 seconds.--> big comfy swells..
tomorrow is not bad at all.
were leaving tonight out of the merrimac to shark fish all night..
probly be some 15-30 miles east of the merrimac..

so basically 3 seconds is the determining factor? 3 secs or less = tough day but >3secs is more like swell. But when does wave height change this. I'm sure that 2 -3'ers at 3 secs is alot different than 5'ers at 3 secs.

Also is there a good way to figure out a forecast between the forcasted conditions and actual observation?

right now forcast says east wind seas 2-3 foot.
the wave bouy off cohaset says different. 1.6 foot every 10 seconds n/e wind 9 knots.

Was just out in Boston Harbor hoping to get outside to see if I could find some Tuna....Made it just past Deer Island and turnded around...there were 2 to 3 footers in the Harbor with a pretty stiff NE wind....could have kept going but it was not going to be fun
