Spring or Fall Run, Whats your favorite?

So what do you prefer,

a. The spring when you get out there for the first couple times of the year and the schoolies show up. You try out that new rod you've been staring at since christmas, you feel your boat rock with the ocean for the first time in months and you can catch small stripers like no other.

or

b. The fall run when the tourists have left, the leaves are changing and you are enjoying the precious last days of nice weater before the cold comes. The fish are big, fat and plentiful. The smell of fall is out there, you get to break out your sweaters and might even have a winter hat on but you have the spot to your self.

What is your favorite?

Fall without a doubt. The air is crisp and cool just the way I like it.

Fall, when you have that fog/mistly rain, the surf is up, and you KNOW there are some big gurls around....

It is only because of the long wait to finally get out on the water that makes the spring better. The fish are out in the daytime and are bigger and fatter, but those warm days and cool nights hunting for the fish are what make it all worth the wait. The fishing is better in the fall so long as the weather holds up though.

yeah, I love the spring. It's just such a great feeling to know the whole season is ahead of you, although the fall can be good, it's bittersweet cause you know winter is coming and you have to sit through more #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& seminars! LOL just kidding, I loved his seminar at MSBA, I hope he'll do more this year!

I gotta agree that I like the spring better. I have done much better with big fish in the spring than in the fall. The fall it seems to be either hot and heavy or nada. I like being able to consistently pick off good sized fish in the spring.

what T.O. said.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Spring is most favored -- good numbers of fish pretty much everywhere, active and hungry, feeding with reckless abandon. Lot's to look forward to for the season.

Fall is awesome, but it is the closing bell and the fish are not as spread out as they are in the spring. More concentrated and if the bait ain't there, neither are the fish - for the most part.

Fishing is better in the fall but catching is better in the spring.

As far as size and quality my biggest have been June fish but for numbers of fish that are still quite large it's been late Sept - late Nov.

I like the spring best. Is great to be out after a long winter and fishing shows/expos.

I do the love fall with cool crisp air. However, my fall weekends tend to go by too fast with kids soccer, family outings,projects,ect....

Spring. It's the only 2 months of the year when I have fish in my back yard, and I don't have to drain the bank account for gas money.
