Absolutely. You will do better with smaller tackle, however. Think flyrods or small spinning tackle and 5" redfins, etc. Most of the fish will be small, but some will be large and put up a great fight in skinny water with small tackle. The inside of inlets is also a good place to fish during an Easterly blow, when everything outside is too churned up. Deep in the night or early AM is probably best, particularly if the inlet is shallow or there is boat traffic (which continues into the night much later than you'd expect). Now is a good time of year to do it. The ponds are full of peanut bunker and very definitely the bass will come in with the tide under the cover of darkness to have at them.
