Question Can I get Chatham Advice?

I'm fairly new to the Chatham area, new to ocean fishing and have had mixed luck in the past year (ok everyone is catching more than I am...).

I have a boat and generally fish in the Stage Harbor area west to Forst Beach and south arond Monomoy. I've caught a few keepers this spring casting slug-gos when I can find action (birds) or trailing plugs (swipers) behind the boat.

Now the pressure is opn - I've got a bunch of guys coming down Friday chomping at the bit to catch fish!

Any good advice?

There are more big blues from forest beach to stage harbor than you can count. All along the beach.

A few big bass have also been taken[ 1 - 30#er that I know of]

Hardings beach has been very good with chunks from shore.

s/w winds----Incoming tide---2nd parking lot.

best of luck.........steve

I have spent some time fishing that area and what is important is what is around for bait. Eels, mackeral, Pogeys, squid, or anything elese. Try and be out there at day break when the fish are active. And either have live bait or something that looks like it. You could also get a tube and worm and or an umbrella rig. Last year those were all working very well.
Yes pay attention to the birds working but sometimes that is just a monster school of blues with the bass underneath.
