6/5/02 Wet & Windy

Out at 0300 and across Buzzards Gultch with a South Wester honking in. seas in the mouth of the Bay approaching 5 to 6 feet and occasional bursts of rain.
Got to Sow and Hogs and the current commenced to build a really nice rip. Waves sometimes approaching Ten Feet and plenty of White water.
Big Plugs do your stuff. (Hi KRISPY!)

Came away with C & R on 12 nice fish, tops estimated at 35 pounds.

Wanted to go to Gay Head but Prudence said no! Went down to Quicks, 8 fish just as fast as we got the lines out and as the current got stronger the fish went and hid some place.
Heavy rain squalls now and winds gusting to 35 knots.
Some one suggested we "Go Home".
As we were coming back into New Bedford Harbor one line was still being reeled in!

Boy, that hot shower sure felt good!

Chet, I was on Little Harbor beach in upper Buzzards Gultch today on a field trip with my daughter and the wind was so bad I thought some of the little kids would blow away. What the heck were you doing out there? I'm glad you have complete confidence in your vessel. Nice job on those big fish, all on big wood?

Sunday this week was not a "Fishing day". I did my duty at Church.
Have obligations sometimes.
Afternoon was spent relaxed with the Admiral. Windy but sunny. Never left the Marina.

I was wondering, I didn't see many people around...made a venture off of Barney's Joy. With the wind it wasn't that bad. It was the first Sunday in a while there was virtually no-one around. I figured you would have been out but the obligations are certainly understandable. I skipped on Saturday to get some work done and missed a good day. Win some and lose some.
