Lost Orvis T3 909 flyrod on Vineyard
I have been kind of waiting to post my request for help about this because of the embarassment, but I need the largest audience possible because my efforst so far have proved fruitless, so here goes:
On October 11th my brother and I had just finished fishing the GUT around 10:30 a.m. on Chappaqui#^^^^&. We had walked backed to the truck in the parking area and I put the flyrod on top of the rack on the cap. It usually goes inside and would have if my mind wasn't elsewhere. I had bought a tuna sandwich for $6.00 at our morning coffee stop and I was starved. Mike says you eat and I'll drive. I said O.K. I was so taken with how good the sandwich actually tasted I got in the truck on the passenger door and needless to say forgot about the flyrod, because it was on the other side of the truck. We both get in truck and drive out onto the beach to meet up with our friends. Fish are breaking and I go to retrieve flyrod and that feeling hit in dead center in my chest the resonates through your whole body as your muttering to yourself, "oh chit". I yelled to Mike get in the truck and we drive like the banners of hell back to the parking area we left 30 to 40 minutes before. Its gone. Drove up and down the road four times, no luck. Spoke to many people that day and since no luck. I am hoping the larger venue here will spread the word a little further. It has a Battenkill V large arbor reel on it with 250 grain sinking line on it with 175 yards of backing. The flyrods burl cork grip had a strip of white atheltic tape on it the just in front of the reel seat. I think if a fishermen found it I would have gotten it back. There were persons in the area working on a house that come from another country that if they found it probably think they hit paydirt. All the shops on the island know about it. I'll pay a reward if necessary to get it back no questions asked. I hope no one minds the post here. I wanted this to reach everyone.
