Those outfits have been available on freak-bay for as long as I can remember and they are always at buy it now prices.
If the vs300 goes for $680 you're getting the rod for 30 bucks. I doubt you would be happy with the rod. If you're willing to pay for a vs chances are you already have some nicer custom rods.
I think they are trying to get you by using the Lami name.

The issue isn't a 2pc rod as there are many FINE 2pc rods out there but the fact that you're paying normal price for a VS reel and getting a free Chinese rod with the Lami name

I have looked at that combo many times and from the picture it looks like a good rod, there are places were you could use a 300.
I think if there was a clearer pic. of the rod it would be better. who said it was made in china?

Chief, I would be willing to bet you could become a fan if you try an allstar 1265-2 that Saltheart wrapped for me.......it has surprised a number of the Cutty crew that I let try it.

Why did you want a two piece?

Where would you need a 300, Besides continental shelf topwater YFT. Even then I would go with the 275 for any offshore trips

Skits---I don't know anything about those rods, but here's a big clue, at least to me---when something is "engineered" by a company, it normally means they don't make it themselves.
And if Lami doesn't make it in Washington, it comes from across the really big pond.
And the only 10' rods that a VS 300 "perfectly balances" are a Harnell 552 or a Lami SB 121 5M.
