65 years ago today.......

At 1pm our time 65 years ago today the attack on Pearl Harbor flung us into World War II. Here's a salute to the veterans of that day and thier shipmates, fellow Marines and soldiers who didn't make it.

Why even try.........

Thanks to all that were there. My wifes grandfather was there in the Navy. An entire building fell on him and he spent a year in the hospital with just about every bone in his body broken. My next door neighbor here in Lakeville was a machinist in the Navy there away from the waterfront and when he heard the planes coming in and finally figured out what the hell was happening he hoped in a jeep with his buddy and drove around the area shooting at the planes with a large machine gun mounted on the jeep. Man he has stories. I was born at Schofield Barracks in Ohau and have been back a few times. The memorial in the harbor is well worth the trip if you are ever there. God bless the men that didn't make it. P.

I just saw some amazing pictures of the immediate aftermath the other day.

The Japs certainly got us with the element of surprise that Sunday morning, but thankfully our Parents and Grandparents lived up to the saying "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" .

God Bless America.

Oh...finally here is another thread! I was beginning to think nobody cared! I just finished watching a 2 hour show on Paerl Harbor on the History Channel.......such great heroism on the part of all of the men and women who were there and fought and died! A tragic day that should never be forgotten!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!
