BEST FISHING STORY IN 06
AT THE START OF THE BIG BLUEFISH RUN IN NARRY IN LATE SEPT., A BUNCH OF THE LOCAL SHARPIES WERE CATCHING BIG BLUES IN THE TEENS BY THE COAST GUARD HOUSE. DRESSED IN OUR WADERS AND CORKERS WITH OUR CUSTOM RODS AND $20.00 PLUGS WE WERE HAVING A BALL. SORRY CLAMER. WELL ALONG COMES THIS KID IN THE 10 YR OLD RANGE. HAS A 7FT. BENNIE,S ROD. BUT THE CATCH IS HE'S USING A 1/2 OZ. JIG BEHIND A 1OZ. SINKER. SLIPS AND SLIDES HIS WAY ON THE KELP AND BLACK SLIME. YOU GUESSED IT. HIS FIRST CAST, BIG HIT AND 15 MIN. LATER A NICE BASS IN THE HIGH TEENS IS LANDED. DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT??

Surprized it wasn't a 50# on a 1/2oz jig & 10oz sinker.
That is a nice story but if that kid was 25 year old guy I'ld have to throw his @$$ in the ditch. Kiddin

It was a couple of years ago but I had been fishing a jetty with only a couple of small bass to show. At first light this guy walks out on the jetty with a redfin tied to a mono leader then tied to a wire leader then tied to the main line. He walks right up to me and takes a cast on my left. Bail closes lure goes 10 feet and splashes hard in the water. he reels in and goes right next to me on my right. Same thing, bail closes cast only goes 10' lure splashes into the water. The difference was this time a #25 bass slams the lure and takes off.
Hard to figure when to use those odd ball rigs.
