low tide = great Sunday meal

Hit the beach yesterday 45 minutes before dead low in search of quahogs. 1 hour later, 70 necks/cherrystones and 40 bulls. As well as a 1/2 peck of oysters. To top it off, I found an arrowhead.

I just shucked the bulls for the chowder. Starting on the cherrystones for clam casino and will wait on the necks/oysters till I pop my first beer.

Made the cocktail sauce yesterday and had a few on the half shell. Man, habenero peppers are a great addition to my secret cocktail sauce.

Yesterday's tide was a fantastic. I dug w/a scratch rake and my buddy picked the oysters. What a fun way to spend a winter afternoon. Four people are coming over for an afternoon of shellfish, cocktails and brew.
