If you've got a chance to see the JFK in Southie, do it. An aircraft carrier up close is an amazing sight.

I saw it years ago while flying down to the Virgin Islands to do some research. You could see the wake from its props many miles before we flew above the ship itself. Awesome!

The Big John is being retired... Shipped manned the peace in the atlantic for a long time... Too bad she had such a horrible maintenance the last few years - might have stayed on a little longer...
