Car insurance /new dent
Quick question,
If your had a new truck and you noticed that your rear tail light was broken with a small dent, do you call your insurance company and claim it or just replace the lens and live with the dent ?
Thanks

depends: if you have .....a $50-+ .)) deductable or not...
and whats cheaper to do...to fix it, sometimes tailight assembly's
come as one huge thing and other times you can simply
buy the lense cover....

besides you don't wanna have a girlyman's truck
without a single scratch

I'm not sure whether something like that would be covered by your collision, or by your comprehensive. Most people carry higher deductables on their collision coverage.

my car got hit with a rock that was kicked up from a pickup truck. I never thought to take the plate number so I opted not to file a claims. Anyway, the cost was $500.00 which is my deductible so it was easier to not file and just pay for the repair myself.

depending on how big/deep the dent is and where it is located, you may be able to use a paintless dent removal service. Probably for around or less than $100. It may not come out perfect, but a lot of these guys can do a pretty good job with it. If it is scratched or paint chipped this is not a good option. Depending on how much the part costs for the tailight, this could comeout to less than your deductible. Even if it is close youmay want to consider whether a claim is worth the hassle and the chance of an increased premium.

Kind of funny Peter that the weekend after St. Patty's Day your vehicle is damaged. Dent by Miller? I'm on to you.... Did the 4-Runner finally crap out or was the wife too embarassed to continue to let that thing park in her driveway?

I don't believe that even if you had gotten the plate number, that it would have done any good, unless the rock actually came off that pickup truck. Stuff on the road kicked up by other drivers I don't believe are the fault of them, atleast that's what I was told.
So VB, you got yourself a new vehicle nice
I didn't notice the damage in the lot when I saw you, must not be that bad.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

I believe it falls under act of God or some similar clause.
I'd just eat it...I can't believe that repair is going to be more than your deductable.
