Big numbers of micros have moved in...to a beach near you
A certain someone called me from a beach in Matunuck at 2pm, as of that call he had over 20 fish...Said they were very small and had to downsize the offereing a bit. It happened as soon as the tide changed to ebb...he is going to the wall to finish out the afternoon, I would imagine if it was that good on the beach in Matunuck, the wall should absolutley explode tonight around 5-6 oclock if it hasent already...Go have fun....with this wind there should be plenty of guys with a 20+ fish evening on the wall today..Oh and he wasnt using sluggos...............

Awwwwww!!!!!
I was there Saturday... Didn't see any of the striped ones. In fact, I switched to bait, just so I could catch a lousy skate like my buddy was! That's a desparate move, friends!
Guess I'll have to head back there...

So, does anyone know if the Wall delivered this evening? Over there this pm 3-4 (after Matunuck delivered my first cobweb clearer this afternoon - made all the more enjoyable by the great company there ), but not a fish to be found.
Went back to Matunuck to find a few more eager schoolies. It was really good to get this season's first instance of striper thumb!!!!

Man things are late...I also heard the fish are extremely small, these are fish that should have been there a couple weeks ago...Well, I hear very good things from up North so I am heading that way today

Stayed at the beach. Not a wall fan, managed one schoolie and one other hit. Decent size considering... 5-6 lbs.

My better years as far as more fish have been those with colder springs.

Funny how striped bass cycles change.
When I first started striped bass fishing in the late 1960s and 70s the first bass wouldn't arrive at the wall before April 15th and didn't appear in the bay until early May.
Now it seems that many expect them by the first of April if not sooner.

I was down there last Friday with no signs of life. Everything is definitely delayed this year, hopefully it prolongs the fall season.

Come fall it wont matter.
I dont think these fish have a calendar that indicates # of days to spend in the northeast... I think the arrive when they arrive and leave when they leave.

yep.
but hopefully we will have a mild fall like this year to keep us on the water longer... I took out extra boat insurance so I can stay out all year if I want. Of course that means it will start snowing in august but had to try.
