STRIPERS AND BLUES OFF BLOCK

I just returned from fishing with a friend of mine in RI. The fishing was fantastic. We hit the south side of Block Is. fishing parachutes and really got into some nice fish. We boated 19 stripers.......with the first two over 40 lbs.....43 and 41.5 respectively. We also boated over 20 blues. These were the best blues I've seen in a long time. Six of them went over 15 lbs! We sure don't see many blues in maine like this anymore. This was my first trip fishing in RI, and I must say that I was very impressed. Is this the norm down there????

I'll post some picks when I get them from my friend.

I was there too yesterday morning. I picked up a 39" and a 40" fat fish, mid 20's I am guessing. Also caught another 5-10 smaller fish in the 28-32" range. The blues were thick and there were some big ones in there........A beautiful morning on the water...

Hey Scotch
we fished the back pond and the channel, I did not know if it was cool to cut through people yards to get to the front. can you give me clue as to where the best place is to get to the front.

I have fished this spot more by boat than surf. Once I went straight out on the rocks and, like you, felt like I was trespassing. The other two times we parked by the rocks and went thru a path and over a fence???? Can't recall exactly where the path is.
