First I want to say thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I am back up and moving around a little now but have to take it slow. I just finished the coursing of Keppra so hopefully my head clears up soon. I hate this light headed feeling. Actually I'm thankful that I have any feelings in my head at all.
I remember looking at the side door openning and the dog coming out and that is about it. We think the door upset the aluminum plank I was standing on and I came down like a ton of bricks. Next thing I know I am in Mass General via a chopper and fighting with a doc about a tube that they put up my nose. (this is what my wife tells me) I guess I ripped it out and they decided it was best to leave it out. Next was fighting about taking out the tube they put in another part of me........ I guess I wasn't the best patient . They told me I seized twice but the great people at MGH weren't to be put off and pulled me through. My hat is off to them.
I've got a bledsoe brace on my left knee to keep it stable as it is about the size of a volleyball and has absolutely no strength at all. I'll be starting physical therapy for that next week. Hopefully it is just damage to the quad and not the knee itself. I guess time will tell.
Again, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers as they meant more to me than you can possibly know.
Dave
Here's what the side of my noggin looks like now. I guess it wasn't a pretty sight last Tuesday
