Danny plugs

I'm wondering if anyone else sees a commercially available void currently for small Danny's? I looked all over at the RISAA show and in tackle shops for a small sized Danny, say around 5" and 1.5 ounces. I want this size to throw on my Loomis 8' SUR965 light rod/VS150 combo. I don't like how the Gibb's swim that I've tried. I would ideally like to see one with 2 belly hooks that you could put an eelskin over. It looks like the only plugmaker who made a great small Danny that I liked (Troublemaker) is out of the plugmaking business. Anyone else with me or have any suggestions.

I think Bob Hahn still makes a 5" 1.5 oz Danny. The older ones I used had two belly hooks. I haven't seen his current version. For small skin plugs it's hard to beat the smaller versions of Pond's jr atom/spin atom. Even better, put a skin on an old 3 hook Gibbs needle.

Im pretty sure you can get some Troublemaker Dannys from Saltwater Edge.

Standing on the water, casting your bread
While the eyes of the idol with the iron head are glowing
Distant ships sailing into the mist
You were born with a snake in both of your fists while a hurricane was blowing

I don't know if they are technically Danny's, but Salties mini bugger (I think thats what its called....) would be great on that rod and they swim real nice.

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

I'm not so sure they have them in stock right now, but I would agree SteveF aka Troublemaker makes a fine 5"/1.5oz Danny. Excellent Action For A Small Danny

I have caught a lot of nice fish with the smallest gibbs danny but the last time I bought them was ten years ago and I don't know if the quality has changed. They are worth a shot though especially because they are readily available.

That's unfortunate if Troublemaker is out of business. I'm not so sure that's true. Those are great swimming plugs. To me the small Gibbs dannies are good too. BigFish's smaller dannies are another option.

What I heard from Pete at SWE was that Troublemaker sent out a fax to the shop recently saying he was out of the plug making business until further notice.
