Finally!
Well after a few weeks of bad luck I finally put my 1st tuna in the boat last Saturday. Fish taped out at 43", around 50 lbs. Fish hit on a 13" black squid bar with white/pink stinger. We had been trolling for hours without even a knockdown and were about to quit when we heard some chatter that a boat close to us was tight. Lines went back in around 12:15 and within 10 minutes I was on. Fish came in after a 10 minute fight and was bled and gutted. The fresh steaks that night were delicious. I officially have tuna fever!

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan

Thanks everyone..it was a long time coming. Last year was my first season tuna fishing and I didn't even get a knockdown, it was very humbling. Hope to build now towards next year.
