What do you use for your leader material?

After my misadventures with leaders last weekend, I've decided to put my current leader material up to competition. Plus, I thought the board could use some banter not centered on Cuttyhunk.

I currently prefer Big Game Green 50 lb. test. What do you all use?

I use Cortland Specton as my running line, 50lb on my ABU 7000 and 35lb on my ABU6500. I use Ande pink for leader material, 40 lb with the 50LB Spectron and 25LB with the 35.... Haven't had any problems yet..... I may move up to 30LB with the 35 Spectron.

Hey Don, the Big Game Green 50# is not designed as leader material. The Big Game "Leader Material" is much stiffer and more abrasion resistant than the stock BG monofilament fishing line... The leader material typically comes in 50yd spools....

I use 50 lb Ande pink with 50 LB Spectron and 30 lb Ande pink with 35 lb spectron. When I used mono I almost always used 50 LB Ande pink. I have used Ande green but its thinner (IGFA line) and I think softer so not as abrasion resistant. I think it ties better knots but I'm sticj\king with the thicker tougher pink or clear Ande.

I tried Stren Flourocarbon leader material once. Stuff was junk. i went back to old reliable Ande.

DC, I strictly use Seaguar Fluro, have not experienced any problems with it yet, when fishing rocks I use 40 or 50, when fishing beach 20 or 25 - all reels backed by Fire...

only use seaguar 40-50lb flouro. only times i have had problems is when there a lot of blues around and they miss the bait in turn nicking the leader and causing later breakoffs. leadered a 38 pound fish with the 50 pound stuff right over the gunnel no net.

I usually use 30# Big Game stock mono on my 20# BG running line. Picked up some Jinkai 50# clear this season for heavier applications, so far so good. On my 10# outfit, I'll go with 20# BG or tie direct if they're picky
