Look what I got in my pogie net

This is the best time of the year
there is soooo much bait in the rivers now it's pandemonium
the hardest part is getting your bait down past the bluefish
The Big Bass are there

So I'm out this weekend getting bait and I get a butter fish in the net.
First one I have seen up this way, must be warm water temps???

It kills me to use wire leaders but I'm losing the bluefish are winning
What would CLAMMER do

Frank,
We have been getting butterfish in our net for a few months and I've caught fish on them also!

We also have been getting some over the past few years......and the bass eat them like potato chips! PS Ron...insane "local" BIG FISH action last PM.

Today was the best I've seen it in years. We hammered large bass all morning. Couldn't count all the blues that we released. Brings back some memories.

Going again tomorrow.

Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

The trap boats get them off chatham. I got my first keepers in may this year using butterfish near stage harbor. If you got them fresh... those things rule!
