sometimes, if there is a leak, there is a reason for it.
i'm not saying this leak wasn't stupid ... but ... what if this is what the government wants the general public to believe?
what if the leak was designed and intended to provoke a response by al qaeda / whomever? what if the intent of this exercise was to measure and otherwise observe this response? doesn't this hamper the enemy's communication capability in some way?
NSA intercepts just about every bit of signal intelligence there is out there. it's impossible to examine every little IP packet ... but if there's anyone out there who can come close, it is NSA.
is al qaeda so dumb as to have operational data on a ubb style chat board? i don't think so.
i wouldn't be surprised if there was more to this story.
