				Bob Hahn Plugs

Hey guys, hope everyone had a great holiday! I'm thinking about picking up some of the new Hahn plugs and wanted some opinions. Did a search and found some posts from last season about these and was wondering if some of the guys who bought them could update me on how they swim and hold up after some use. I'm most interested in the 3oz surfster and 3oz jointed snake, but would be interested in any feedback about the Hahns in general. I want to add some larger plugs to my rotation and Bob's got a lot of stuff in the 8", 3oz range and it's all under $20.

I like his smaller surfsers. Not that I have anything against the larger ones, have not fished them as much.
His jointed pike has some really nice action, looks like a catcher, but again I feel I have not given it alot of fish time.
If he still makes the large needles, they've beed good to me, fished very slow, as close to the bottom as you can get them. (Black) His needles have caught fish for me in some dire situations.
Great plugs, especially for the price. Change the hooks if you want, and maybe clear coat for a longer lasting finish. I'm a Jersey guy at heart so I got a special place for these plugs.

They cracked all the wood and finish around the Grommets because they pounded the grommets in with a hammer and punch. Finish bubbled off while hanging on the wall with out using them. They are not what they use to be. Pay a little more and get quality
I'll post pictures a little later.

They swim great. I would replace the hooks. The top coat will come off very easily so just keep that in mind. A good cheap plug to throw at the blues.

Thanks for the replies. Glad I didn't pull the trigger yet and order some. I would rather buy plugs that swim well and retain their finish for a few dollars more. Does anyone know of a good commercially available jointed snake/eel in the 3oz/9" area? I liked the look of the Hahns, especially that he used a surfster-style spoon lip, I want something that will swim in a nice serpentine motion and leave a big wake on the surface.

BigFish Bait Co. will be introducing a jointed eel exactly as you describe very shortly.....has incredible slither action! Until then I refer you to Afterhours Custom Lures......he makes a sweet jointed eel!

With the Hahn lures its basically bang for your buck. They swim they catch, they fall apart. The lures do what they are supposed to do, but they just dont hold up. But you have to keep in mind the price point of the lures themselves which isnt bad.

Thank Bigfish, I'll check out AH and be eagerly anticipating your new jointed eel! From what I've read, the Hahns used to be in the $12-15 range, which would be fine for throwaway plugs, but the range is more like $15-19 now, at least on the e-bay store that sells them, and when you add shipping costs they're not really priced well for plugs that will last only a handful of outings.

Plankton, the ebay store is over- priced. They are still 12-15 in shops.

I have a couple of stetzko jointed .They swim nice but casting is a whole nother issue. The bigger one casts further just got to watch out for the lips on the rocks they aren't metal.I have caught fish on big and small. They swim below the suface but at the right speed you can make a nice wake on top.
