Best time to fish the Block

October has not been to good to us the last couple of years and we're thinking about switching it up, any opinions?

Beer is the reason we get up each afternoon.

The Block in the fall is not anywhere near what it was in the 80s. DZ still finds quality fish in Nov but even he will admit that it is a shadow of what it once was. I don't know why either.
I I have hear that the Spring can be good.

I use to fish the Block every Fall religiously. Stopped 3 years ago when I had 5 years in a row with few and no fish.

If I were to make a long run in the Fall in the surf I think I would do Cutty or Montauk.

No boat, back in the suds.

IMO , Montauk is better in late nov. I would still choose Block island over montauk in October.

I used to have great results at the end of October back in the early 90s. Weekend of July 4th was reserved for the drunkfest.

When I was w/o boat, I had a few conversations with Capt Mike Neto regarding fishing BI. He always recommended the same time frame, especially July 4th weekend out there.
