Beavertail

Hi Everyone, new to the board, been lurking for a while and getting lots of info, thanks.

Just got back into the saltwater this year after about 10 years off. I managed to get a keeper at night and some bluefish blitzes which was fun.

Looking to get into more keepers this weekend. Thinking about Beavertail, any input?

One of my favorite spots as well. I was thinking either there or one of the breachways, haven't decided yet.

Beavertail striper fishing has been good but not too many keepers. There are lots of small blues that make eel fishing an expensive proposition. I did manage to raise a big one a few days ago to a jointed white Danny on the east side. (Yeah, I was day fishing.)
The thing about Beavertail is it is a huge spot where 90% of the pressure is confined to about 10% of the park. You need to move around when you fish Beavertail.
This guy, Sunny Bun, was fishing green crabs for tog at the lighthouse front in May of last year and got a pretty good one. So you never know.

thanks for the word. Been hearing things about the quonny breachway too. I noticed there is no sign saying you need a beach permit to drive to it from weekapaug, do i need one, or should i go to the other side and walk from the boat ramp??
