RI South Shore

I'm relatively new to surf casting. As a result, I'm a little nervous fishing from the breechways, especially since I don't have any corkers and usually fish alone. Can anyone point me to any beeches that might be a little more safer than the breechways in South County. I love the cape outer beaches, but they are too far for a day trip. Thanks in advance for the info.
