Did Rhody shore produce?

It was good to see everyone and the food was great(especially Mrs Matoonoc's apple pie). So who caught what, when, where and how? Matoonoc and I did the other long walk (Narrow River). Conditions looked great but only managed 1 small keeper on eels. We didn't get a measurement cause the fish was hooked deep in the mouth and it took awhile to get it out. Fish was released unharmed. My guess is 29-30". Oh yeah, as we were unhooking the bass a well known fishing writer(DP) and his young son jumped right on my spot before I could get back. It was like the West Wall but in October. Maybe some day we'll see an article in the fisherman about how BIG the ocean is.

LOL, hey I was tired My wife says my snoring can wake the dead. I wish you would have woke me up, I left the windows down and the skeeters ate me alive. All in all it was a fun trip and I will be back next weekend again for some more Rhody scenery and bigger fish.

what are you doing looking at Dave's neck anyway??

....I got a few fish, 9-10 bloofish teeney ones and 6 Stripers...biggest one 15#s maybe!...bout 36 "...its a guesstimate... I HAD NO WITNESSES so I didn't bother sizing er' up... ...no-one wanted to play on the beach with me...so I continued my walk to the point. I arrived at the point to find a guy catching dogfish ... I tried a few casts but quickly decided that I belonged back on the beach...where the fish were...and headed back to the beach where I found DaveS and soon to be others...Good time...Good Fun! There were more faces there than names...Sorry I didn't get to say hello to all of em'....till next time!

story-time:

...On the way out to the point I came across a school of small breaking fish. I had my waders over my shoulder so I quickly changed into them and put my sneakers up out of harm's way. I marked the spot where I left my sneakers and continued on my way assuming they would still be there on my return. On the way back I was searching for my sneakers along the grassy edge with my headlamp. A HA!!....I see them just ahead. I no longer stay focused...."ass-uming" they were my sneakers...

WELL, SURPRISE!! They weren't my sneakers at all...but a freakin sneaker-skunk look-alike nike!!! I ran like hell into the water. Skunks are afraid of water right??

...yeah, when it gets late...my eye-sight deceives me. ...there's a slight resemblence!!

Glad you guys liked the pies

As Scotch said, we just got the one fish at the river. I caught my second wind on the way home, and still had a few eels left, so I hit the homeland for another three hours till 0200 by myself (Scotch had to work in the am). Tried like heck to shake the skunk stink, but nada, not even an bump. A couple other people were fishing around me, and they were hitting schoolies. ALmost went back to the car to re-rig with plastic or plug, but stuck it out with the eels cause there's got to be at least one big one out there, right??? Oh well, great get together, put a few more face with the names

Bruce, I slapped a 40HP motor on the back of each one of your shoes, now I'm a boat fisherman.

Had a good time, inside the breachway sounded like someone was dropping rocks in, but the wind made it very hard to feel the jig. There is still plenty of season left......

Hey... Glad to hear you folks had a good time! Guess I shoulda' braved the "weather" and headed up cause' it wasn't bad out at all.

I made it to Niantic Sat and Sun night, just before dark, and managed 11 blues between the two outings. All small, around 5 lbs.

Saw a guy land a 12 pounder (est) last night. Nice fish - for a blue.

Regards,
Rob

Hey Everyone, sorry I haven't logged in until now but I played with my son, watch the Pasts cough on up/get dominated ( ) and then fell asleep after the Sopranos ...

Glad that most people got into some fish this time but equally sorry that no horses came out to play. Still, much fun was had and the food was great, as usual.

A lot of us took a walk, and had a nice howling NW wind to contend with at the very end of the point. Some big surf soaked a few people too

Managed just a couple hits, likely bluefish, but we (that is the others beside me ) got into some fish on the way back. Including carl landing a nice dogfish on an eel hehehehe...

Great time - again, thanks everyone and thanks to Don & Charlie for the meeting place

It was great to see everyone again including some new faces. The food was great too. I shook the skunk around midnight with the bass and then I picked up the dogfish about a half hour later. (Both on eels. ) Just as John and Specialist were leaving, a couple of bluefish made fast work of my eel. I stuck around until a little after 1:00 then went home. John, how did you and Specialist make out after you left?

...Don,

Thanks for those 4 cups of coffee in the weeeee hours of the morning

We ended up heading toward the Breachway after we left your shop. Milo and Goose hit the Breach, I walked the beach all the way to that house with the light on. Nada! On the breachway...a fellow was catching small blues..nothing like that 30+ #er pounder that was weighed in for the contest ...ooooops, I mean 20#er Good thing your scale was accurate. When we finally decided to head back to Ma, I noticed three trucks parked outside your shop....Do you do that every weekend???...

Leave a note on your door to wake you up? or was that just for the contest and Striped-Bass.com? YOU DA MAN!...now get some sleep!
