First Crack at a Foil Finish

Well, I spent my snow day yesterday coming up with this, took a few hours to burnish the scales in, but I think the effort was worth it, just have to wire it tomorrow and I'll call it good, I ended up carving the mackerel pattern in a piece of cardboard and making a stencil. I think it turned out pretty good.

Looks great. Did you clear epoxy the blank first then glue stencil ,add foil, epoxy then paint? I have some blanks ready for color. Might just try one w/ foil.

Nice Job there Johnny how quickly you are expanding your techniques. You are completely hooked now and all your free time is gone forever.

I tried that method about 2 years ago and gave up on it. I think i need to try it again. Some of the Japanese builders make some incredible foil plugs.
