I know of at least three boats here that won't wait until then!

(And I gotta tell you - I saw the Topic thread, and I saw it was you, and, well, I sort of expected a different, maybe slightly sarcastic comment relative to Ptown!)

Might as well make it the tri-fecta

I was worried about seeing Bob Greasey and #^&#^&#^&#^& Butt-kiss myself

The title threw me off as well...but, since it's posted....

My brother and I tried chasing them last year.....with no success....so as a newbe to them, was last year a normal year for them to be around or was that a better than normal year....seems like they were around for a while and not too far from shore. Is this common? And if anyone wants to PM me a couple of hints on how to catch one of those things....I won't mind either. Tried alot of topwater stuff, but those fish are different than the fishing I am used to.....

PS.....Sweet fish by the way.

Alternate lifestyle jokes aside, the water temps in CC Bay are affected by the prevailing summer wind ( one of my fav Frank Sinatra tunes) which is southwest and warm. Also offshore currents change with the summer and warmer water comes in from offshore as well.

This wind pattern blows warm surface waters across the bay to the Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown shorelines (that's why bluefishing is so much better over that side of the bay and the old charter skippers knew this)

This mass of warm water spawns plankton blooms wich draw the sandeels ( tons of sand eels just off the Long Point/Wood End/New Beach sections) about a 1/2 mile offshore.

This is where those guys use Salty's smaller needles to such great affect. It's match the hatch fishing!

Don't worry it will happen.

Why even try.........
