Still better than a sharp stick

in the eye.
Fished the N. River for a couple of hours last noc with no success. The tides have been big and the winds been up so the river was just loaded with plug snagging crud. Did not help that I was trying to cast light stuff into a nasty NE breeze.
I guess the little fella I caught last week was just a fluke.

The seals have not hauled out onto the float this weekend so maybe they have moved on. I sure hope so.

I scared up a couple snifs 2 days ago at supper time on the bubblegum sluggos. Missed both fish, winter rust. Nothing this morning, gave it a 30min shot. Cold wind and some crud. They are there, just need the right time of tide for your spot.

i decided to hit the beach this AM... strangely it was fun. besides all the 20 mins between each cast i spent cleaning everything that could possibly be floating in the ocean off my line. oh and the cold wind in my face. that wasn't so fun. nor were the 4-6ft waves that made 100yrds of wash. but still had a blast giving it a try... between all the crud on my plugs and line and the force of the wave receding, either my drag was screaming or my rod was bending constantly.. reminded me of what a fish felt like. thus making it worth the aggravation.

next tide... back waters hear i come. (i should have been in them anyway. but it was a spur of the moment decision and the beach is right out my door) cant wait to find an actual fish or two.
