First quick fishing as a Rho Dyslander

'Twas nuttin much but I got out last night for a couple hours for my first fishing as a Rho Dysland resident. I was hoping for a memorable welcome to Rhody from the fishing gods by allowing me a chance to dance with a 50 but I would be happy with a single fish to welcome me to the Ocean State. I can't consider last weekends 22-24#er of Watch Hill as my first redient fish as I had no furniture in the house and my wife was still in Mass... I went to sling some black slimies at monster bass in Narragansett Bay.
Beautiful night. Nice temps, a little wind and a little surf but overall it was pretty calm at this spot.

First cast, hit and run but I didn't get a good hookset and the fish -no monster- was off. I'm thinking to myself - I'm gonna get whacked by the hit-on-the-first-cast blues and end up with nothing for the night as we were only fishing for a couple hours either way.
Jumped around to a couple different rocks with nothing happening for an hour plus and then went back to the spot of the first cast. Had a couple bumps and one more run where I landed one small bass, maybe barely a keeper before heading home...

mission accomplished (barely)

Who was the poet who said, "Better to have fished and been skunked than never to have fished at all"? John, I'll be moving out of the office building next door in two weeks. If you want to get together for lunch one day before that, let me know (Chinatown?).

John, excellent. We'll have to fish together again some time. Unfortunately my fall run is already pretty much booked up but I am sure we can hit the schoolies in the upper bay in the spring.

Shame on me for not adequately planning for the fall migration
