They look real nice K. Bottom looks pretty flat which could be a little rough in some conditions. Got a sharp entry but flat after that. Be curious in the ride it gives. Sure is a nice looking boat though.

It's a nice little boat that rides well with minimal power. It's flat on the bottom because after all it is a skiff. I wouldn't worry about a deep vee, I mean how far out are you going to go in a 15 foot boat anyway. In that size boat you are better off with something that has no draft so you can fish the skinny water or the rocks. Also that flat bottom will make it more stable for casting than a v bottom 15 footer.

If you want something a little bigger that will let you venture out a little further I would suggest a 17 foot Seaway. I had one of the commercial hulls since 1983 and sold it to a friend a few years ago who has only used it a couple times and might be interested in selling. It has a 40 Rude with electric start/trim and a tiller. Very clean simple boat.

Karl,

Similar to the Bluefin skiff is the Amesbury skiff by the Stur-Dee Boat company. I believe they have been made in Rhode Island by the same family forever. Search Stur-Dee Boats. They make a 12, 14 and 16 foot boat that can be ordered with a console like a Bluefin skiff.

come on Big K , you can find time to build one of these can't you?

Lower has one in progress right now.

If I had time I'd be building one also.

I never rode in one but I have heard good things about Bluefin boats.

Just got in from fiberglassing the skeg on. Finished up the rubrails too. A little (actually a lot) more fairing and I'll be flipping her over. This thing WILL be catching stripers in the spring!

Come on Karl it's fun. As I type my forearms are stuck to the desk with epoxy...my cars haven't seen the garage in a year and I didn't even know the olympics were on, as I'm in my garage everynight. Do it man...do it!
